For each vCISO engagement at TPO Group, your vCISO will embed as part of your team on a fractional basis just like a fractional Chief Financial Officer. For a fraction of the cost of a full-time CISO, you get decades of experience and know-how. And unlike other vCISO services that are a loss leader for product sales, our vCISOs are ethically and legally bound to act in your interest, not ours. That's why we have pioneered the concept of the vCISO as a Fiduciary. Our vCISOs will help guide you to the right outcomes for your business including helping you build a program and handing it off to a full-time CISO when the time is right.

How We Work With You​

Each vCISO engagement is structured as a month-to-month engagement with discounts given for longer-term commitments. Clients purchase the time of a specific vCISO team member in 10 hour blocks starting at $250 per hour. More experienced vCISOs charge higher dollar amounts. Additional blocks of time may be purchased dependent on vCISO availability. Each month our vCISO will dedicate the selected block of time to you, triaging your businesses security needs through an ongoing dialogue just like you would with a full-time in-house employee. Some months, that will mean firefighting. Other months, effort will be dedicated to more strategic priorities.

When additional capacity or specialized capability is necessary, our vCISO may recommend other TPO Group services. In so doing, our vCISO always has an obligation to do what is in your interest. Some of our clients strictly prohibit their vCISO from recommending TPO Group services. That is their decision to make -- and yours. Other clients trust their vCISO to act in their interest and recommend other services as necessary.
